Professionelle und Hobby-Zeichner weltweit waren zur Teilnahme am von
CartoonRing veranstalteten Wettbewerb eingeladen.

Jury Assigment:
In 2006 I was appointed a juror for the New York Cartoon Festival.
Professional and amateur artists worldwide were invited to participate in the competition
which was organized by CartoonRing.

GUIDELINES:
2006 CartoonRing Cartoon
Competition and Festival, USA
CartoonRing invites cartoonists
worldwide to participate in our 2006 knockout Drug Cartoon Festival.

CONTEST IS OPEN TO: All professionals
and amateur cartoonists all over the world.

THEME: Knockout Drug
-
ENTRIES: Max. 5 works. The works (in any form of visual art) must be
original, unpublished before and accompanied by the author's entry-form,
biography and photo

SIZE: Min. A4 (210 x 297 mm) - max. A3 (297 x 420 mm)

TECHNIQUE: Free
-
DEADLINE: All entries must be postmarked by March 15, 2006

PRIZES/AWARDS:
1st Prize - CartoonRing Medal and 3,000 US$; 2nd Prize - CartoonRing Medal
and 2,000 US$; 3rd Prize - CartoonRing Medal and 1,000 US$ - CartoonRing
medal's will also be awarded to honorable mentions which the CartoonRing
committee feels have demonstrated a successful view of the knockout Drug
theme.

JURY MEMBERS: The artwork will be evaluated by judges in eight countries to
determine the #1 anti-drug cartoon in the world.

CATALOGUE: Each entrant whose work is chosen for publication in the
catalogue will receive a free copy of the catalogue.

FESTIVAL and EXHIBITION: The 2006 knockout Drug Cartoon Festival will be
launched in the Spring/summer of 2006 and Prizes will be awarded during that
time.

JURY
The CartoonRing 2006 Jury Committee
consists of six members:
- Mikhail M. Zlatkovsky (Russian
Federation),
...is famed for his acclaimed political cartoons.
Founder and President of The Russian FECO (Federation of Cartoon Organization)
is known internationally for his acclaimed political cartoons and his infamous
decision to throw out physics as a profession to become a free-lance artist.
He has participated as jury member for numerous International Cartoon
Festivals, and has won himself, over 198 prizes from other cartoon
competitions.
- John Roberts (Great Britain)
...has been a cartoonist / caricaturist for 15 years.
He is a cartoonist/caricaturist who has plied his trade professionally for the
last 15 years. He has won a number of cartoon awards, and has also been
exhibited in the UK and throughout Europe and Asia. For the last four years he
was the President of FECO (UK) (Federation of Cartoonists Organizations) and
was until recently a committee member of the CCGB (Cartoonists' Club of Great
Britain).
- Andre Pijet (Canada)
...an illustrator, caricaturist and cartoonist, well known for his book
illustrations.
Settled in Quebec in 1988. In his native Poland, his training in fine arts
andphotography, along with his innate talent for drawing, led very early to a
career as an illustrator, caricaturist and cartoonist. His satirical and
humorous works have been published in Poland, Greece, Belgium, France, Great
Britain, Italy, Turkey, the United States and Canada. As a freelance artist,
he works regularly with major advertising agencies and publishing companies.
He is well known for his book illustrations and for his work as a graphic
artist and art director. His works have been featured in a number of major
exhibitions and have earned him a number of prizes abroad.
- Yu Liang (China)
... a caricaturist and illustrator, fine arts editor of Ma_anshan Daily.
Caricaturist, illustrator, was born in 1962, Ma_anshan City, graduated from
Anhui Normal University, the fine arts department. Currently, he serves as the
fine arts editor of Ma_anshan Daily. He frequently takes part in international
caricature competitions held in Japan, Korea, Italy, Germany, Poland & etc,
and has won various International cartoon prizes.
- Oliver Weiss (Germany)
...a freelance illustrator, cartoonist, painter, corporate designer,
multimedia specialist and journalist.
He has been working as a freelance illustrator and cartoonist since 1989.An
award winner in a number of competitions, his clients come from Europe, North
America, and Asia, and include DER SPIEGEL, The Writer, Euromoney, Deutsche
Bank, Bertelsmann, DIE ZEIT, AOL and Reed Business. Oliver is also a painter,
a corporate designer, a multimedia specialist and a journalist.
- Muhittin Koroglu (Turkey)
...one of the most internationally known cartoonists of our time.
Mr. Koroglu graduated from Fine Arts Decorative Painting
Department in 1974 and worked on photography, painting and cartoon. He has
focused on drawing cartoon professionally since 1989, and has been one of the
directors of the Association of Cartoonists for many years. Following the
establishment of Cartoon Publications in 1991, he works with the United
Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, Tema Foundation, Green Steps
Education Association, etc. Nowadays, he has been sharing the management of
the Publicationwith Birsen Koroglu.
