These are for a project due out next spring – a bunch of whimsical drawings on the pleasures and adversities of life.

Did this one this morning on the topic of thieves stealing valuables, and the difficulties in tracking them down. The art shows a robber carrying an oversized vase while escaping through a flight of stairs, his followers hard on his heels.

I made this one on the topic of opera singers. Incidentally, one of my (very) distant relatives was opera singer Pauline de Ahna. She was also composer Richard Strauss’ wife, and premiered everything from Arabella to Salome etc. in the lead.

So they discovered that Hitler’s jaws they have been keeping stored in Moscow somewhere couldn’t actually be Hitler’s as they have turned out to be a woman’s. Unless, of course, Hitler was a girl, which is rather unlikely, beard and all.

Surprising to many, US president Barack Oabama is this year’s Nobel Peace laureate. My illustration uses Obama’s portrait to replace the O in NOBEL here.

I have created new illustrations for a bestselling book by Gabal publishers on the so-called “Concentrated Systems Strategy.”

Now in its 13th edition, the book has been completely revised and expanded. The authors, noted experts on management strategies, unravel the basics of a successful business strategy for corporations and managers.

This illustration is on how the US is seen by a great part of the rest of the world. (Not overly popular, I’m afraid….) Kinda like the feisty-looking Uncle Sam here ;-)

So why the black stripes? My sister Caroline is obsessed with zebras, and I’m sure she will be passing along that passion – so Pauline had better get in the right mood from the start ;-)
