Blue Rider Redux

Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider) was a group of artists in Munich in the early 1900’s which surrounded expressionist artists like Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, and August Macke. Many of its most important works are collected in the Lenbachhaus in Munich. Anyhow, this image here is thought of as a modern commemoration.

Love the Lenbach! And for the past few years, we’ve had its virtual Doppelgaenger in NY: the Neue Galerie, off 5th Ave.

Doesn’t have the lovely outdoor space, but does have a jewel of a collection, plus a Viennese cafe.
