Bah, Bah, Black Sheep 20

These black sheep images displayed here have never been published – I got them scanned in only a while ago. They give a little insight into my goings on two decades ago – my state of mind, my many ups and downs, and the great many big questions so prevalent back then…
When I look at them today I am, of course, reminded of my life at the time; but so much has changed ever since that it feels strangely peculiar as well to see these – a little like glancing into the life of another person even. That said, I really like these gouache-color black sheep a lot – hope you do, too :-)

Hmmm… (aus neugier, rate ich mal): Was the Dance inspired by some kind of a crisis caused by choosing between engineering and things that you do tody? And the difficult Walk describing the last steps of finishing the Diplomthesis?

With our cultures’ insatiable appetite for ‘new’, revisiting expressions of a former mindset is now new all over again… how refreshing, isn’t it?

Ilene you know, that’s a very clever remark. I’ve been finding that I’m not really all that much looking for new things all the time, but I actually enjoy re-reading books I’ve read, or seeing movies again over and over etc.
With “life as such” this is different, however – I hardly (want to) look back but choose to look ahead most of the time…

hi bea – die bilder sind nicht eigentlich ganz genauso so zuordenbar; aber von meiner damaligen allgemeinen lage und stimmung her liegt deine vermutung natürlich genau richtig ;-)

The future is coming at us so fast that the wish to retreat to former pleasures and creative expressions has taken on the status of old friends surfacing to help us comprehend what has happened, what is and what will happen.

Like these a lot, they transcend the ‘illustrative’, they’re timeless, very strong.
