| Ein
eigenartiges Szenario: Ein Hund auf dem Mond! Ein
Erdenhund auf Reisen, ohne Sauerstoffmaske? Ein Mondhund?
– So rätselhaft die Konstellation anmutet,
so selbstverständlich ist das Tier einfach da.
Sein selbstbewußter Auftritt erlaubt keine Fragen:
Hier bin ich, hier werde ich bleiben! Auf dem Mond
ist es die Erde, die auf und untergeht. Im Bild ist
sie nur wenig mehr als ein verlorener Ball im Firmament.
Keine Fragen, keine Antworten: das Bild ist wie es
ist.
Das
Motiv wurde als Linoldruck in limitierter und signierter
Auflage Auflage hergestellt (s. Background).

An
eerie scenario – a dog standing on the moon!
Is it a dog from earth who does not carry an oxygen
mask? Or does it live on the moon? – No less
mysterious than the setting is the fact that the beast
is simply there. Its self-conscious appearance does
not make for further inquiry – this is me, and
this is how I am! From the moon, it is the earth which
rises and sets. All we see in the image is a small
globe which can get lost in the universe. No questions,
no answers – things are what they are.
The
image was created as a lino print (see Background
below) in a limited and signed edition. |

Druckgrafik wurde in limitierter Auflage im Linoldruck-Verfahren hergestellt
und ist handsigniert und numeriert von Oliver Weiss.
Bei Linoldrucken arbeitet
der Künstler mit speziellem Künstler-Linoleum. Das ist nicht
das was man heutzutage in Küchen verwendet; die dicken, biegsamem
Platten lassen sich relativ leicht mit speziellen Linolschnitt-Werkzeugen
bearbeiten.

This limited-edition lino
print has been created using the lino cut printing technique, and has been
hand signed and numbered by Oliver Weiss.
For
linoleum cuts, or lino cuts, the artist works on soft printing linoleum
(sometimes called "battleship linoleum"), which is not the kind
used in kitchens today. This is a thick and elastic material which cuts
with a cutting tool quite easily.

Oliver
Weiss ist Illustrator, Grafiker und Maler. Seine Gemälde (meist
Acryl auf Leinwand) sind moderne Pop Art, während sich die meisten
seiner Druckgrafiken eher der grafischen Karikatur zurechnen lassen. Alle hier angebotenen
Bilder sind von ihm selbst hergestellt und signiert.
Oliver Weiss' Druckgrafiken und Originalgemälde eignen sich sowohl für zuhause

Oliver Weiss is an
illustrator, a graphic designer, and a painter. Most of his his
paintings (usually acrylic on canvas) are unique pop art, while
his prints generally follow a tradition of humor and satire. All
artwork displayed here has been produced and signed by the
artist.
Oliver's prints
and original paintings add distinctive value to your home or
apartment, and are excellent attributions to offices, law firms,
and doctors' practices. Ask Oliver to
